Mom I Love you
There’s not an awful lot you can say about mothers. Not because there isn’t much to say, there is, a lot. You’re just scared to write anything in case you somehow end up not giving them what they’re worth. The strongest people are those who go through a lot of pain and hardship but still manage to smile in the end. My mother is one of them.
It’s not easy being one, but here she is, with two of the naughtiest kids in the planet. She has a lot of pluck to deal with me and my injuries, and my brothers sudden mood changes. She had a pretty lonely childhood, growing up as an only child, and my grandparents were working, so they couldn’t give her as much time as they would have liked. Because she grew up alone, she still gets surprised when my brother and I fight over the silliest of things (there have been moments where we sit down and explain to her that this is normal with siblings and then continue fighting). She still manages to handle us extremely well despite being a mother for the first time. Alongside handling us, she has an online shop too! She designs clothes, accessories, home décor, etc., and manages to do a wonderful job of it as well! She so often tells me that her whole life changed when I was born. And not in the good way, for her at least. She was a working mom for the first 1 and a half year of my life, and she hated every minute of it. She missed my first words, the little antics I did throughout the day (I spoke early, not tooting my own horn here but what a proud mama she must have been). She left her job once my dad got a promotion, and she has been a homemaker since. Not anymore though, she has her own shop online. Star seller for three months in a row! She’s not like other mothers. After all, which Indian mother have you seen who has all the dialogues of Ice Age memorised? I see how that somehow might have been my fault because that was my favourite movie… (Still is!). It’s not that all mothers aren’t super, I just see mine in a different light, just wearing a cape and a pair of tights.
